A Brief Encounter with Altair of ‘Assassin’s Creed Revelations’
So I had an interesting conversation Tuesday morning!
As I was having a look around Twitter and following a few people here and there, I came across a Gentleman called Cas Anvar. He is an actor and producer in America and at a glance looked to have an interesting feed that deserved a follow.
I didn’t expect a follow back as I am just…..well me, a lass passing my days writing and sharing the things I like…… Well, blow me down with a feather, he actually sent me a tweet.
At this point I am not going to lie and say that I recognised straight away who he was, but the fact that an actor and producer somewhere in Hollywood had taken the time to talk to me was kind of cool.
As we spoke It started to sink in who this guy was. Firstly, for all you gamers out there, Mr Anvar is the voice of Altair in Assassin’s Creed Revelations and has done numerous voice overs for other big name games such as Call of Duty Black ops 2, Star Wars Clone Wars, Halo 4 and End of Nations.
As the conversation continued and he kindly agreed to follow me back, it also dawned on me that I recognised his face from his profile picture and knew I had seen him before. The fact that his profile mentioned he had starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Source Code, hadn’t even registered until part way through conversation.
This was beyond cool and when he asked about my website and then proceeded to check it out, coming back to me saying he thought it was really cool and he liked the concept and the stories, I was made up. He then said to me “how could he compete with a Space Station and a 3D painter”, (two articles from my site) I replied “Assassin’s Creed, Source Code and Lost…….Hello!” Oh yeah he was in Lost too!
After this brief encounter I have obviously looked into Mr Anvar a lot more and am impressed with the versatility of this man’s talents. Clearly as I have already mentioned he has done voice over work, starred in Source Code and the final season of Lost but there is so much more.
Born and raised in Canada, he graduated from the National Theatre School and has since gone on to perform in over 60 major roles in film and TV.
He has worked on popular TV shows such as Neverland, Medium, Boston Legal, 24 and most recently NCIS Los Angeles. He’s appeared and starred in films including Argo, Transformers 2, The Terminal, The Factory and the upcoming, highly anticipated film, Diana as Dodi Fayed.
This impressive list of shows and movies amongst others means he has worked alongside the likes of Tom Hanks, Kiefer Sutherland, Bob Hoskins and many other huge stars.
He is a multi-talented actor who is an accomplished stage actor, can speak three languages, horse back ride, do martial arts and sword fight!
I have, in fact, only just touched the surface and there is so much more to see and learn on his website www.casanvar.com.
I wanted to share this experience with you because I am grateful to this interesting man, for taking time out of his clearly busy life to connect with me and give me the time of day. How many Tweeters or Facebookers can you say do that? Even friends.
